NNPC Reduces Petrol Price to N1,260 Per Litre in Abuja

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has lowered the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) at its retail stations in Abuja, following recent adjustments in the downstream fuel market.

A market check on Tuesday showed that NNPC retail outlets across parts of the capital, including Kubwa Expressway, Wuse Zone 6 (Berger), and Zone 4, were selling petrol at N1,260 per litre. This represents a reduction from the previous price of N1,335, marking a drop of N75 per litre.

The adjustment comes about a week after the reduced its gantry price of petrol to N1,175 per litre, a move that has continued to influence pricing trends across the fuel distribution chain.

Before the latest change, several filling stations in Abuja, including MRS and others, had been selling petrol within the range of N1,241 to N1,300 per litre, reflecting ongoing competition and adjustments in response to shifts in upstream pricing.

The recent price movement highlights continued volatility in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector as marketers respond to changes in refinery pricing and broader crude oil market dynamics.
