Sahara Group has appointed as the Managing Director of Arahas Global Oilfield Services, reinforcing its efforts to strengthen its oilfield services business and expand its energy footprint across Africa.
The company said the appointment took effect on July 1, 2026, and forms part of its broader strategy to enhance operational excellence, promote innovation and drive sustainable growth across its energy businesses.
Executive Director of Sahara Group, , said Soetan’s appointment reflects the company’s commitment to building strong leadership capable of delivering long-term value and supporting its strategic ambitions.
According to him, Soetan will lead Arahas in delivering efficient, value-driven oilfield services while positioning the company as a competitive player through innovation, engineering expertise and operational reliability.
In addition to overseeing Arahas’ operations, Soetan will assume expanded responsibilities within Sahara Power Group, where she is expected to apply her experience in the power sector to improve operational performance and strengthen collaboration across the group’s businesses.
The company said the dual role is designed to create stronger links between its upstream and power operations, enabling a more integrated and efficient approach to energy delivery across the continent.
Speaking on her appointment, Soetan said she was pleased to take on the new responsibility, describing it as an opportunity to help transform oilfield services in Africa through innovation, efficiency and sustainability.
She said she looks forward to working with the Arahas team to build a high-performing organisation that supports Sahara Group’s long-term vision for Africa’s energy sector.
Before her appointment, Soetan served as the Chief Executive Officer of Ikeja Electric, where she led operational improvements, strengthened customer-focused initiatives and guided the company through a period of enhanced performance. She has also held leadership roles across the midstream, downstream, power and aviation sectors, bringing extensive experience to her new position.
