Nigeria’s oil and gas sector will come under close scrutiny at this year’s Nigeria Oil & Gas Outlook (NOGO) conference, as industry leaders, policymakers, regulators, and financiers gather in Lagos to assess whether recent reforms are translating into real results.

The event is organised by Eventhive, an Africa-focused B2B events company, under the theme “Promise to Performance: Nigeria’s Oil & Gas Inflection Point.”
According to organisers, Nigeria’s oil and gas sector has undergone significant structural changes over the past five years, and this year’s conference is designed to test that transformation against actual performance and output.

The conference will focus on five key areas: whether indigenous operators are producing at scale, the governance and infrastructure gaps behind Nigeria’s ongoing production shortfalls, the execution challenges facing the $60 billion Gas Master Plan, the growing downstream economy around domestic refining, and the potential for offshore exploration to become the sector’s next major growth driver amid tightening global ESG standards.

Speaking ahead of the event, Jamiu Ijaodola, CEO of Eventhive, said NOGO 2026 is intended to shift the conversation from what has changed in the sector to what those changes must now deliver. He said the conference would bring together the operators, financiers, policymakers, and service providers positioned to determine whether the current moment becomes a genuine turning point for the industry.

Speakers confirmed for the event include Olajumoke Cecilia Ajayi, MD/CEO of West African Exploration and Production; Nzan Ogbe, Executive Vice Chairman of Levene Energies; Pade Durotoye, Managing Director for Nigeria at Savannah Energy; and Sheila Addo, Deputy Managing Director of Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority, among other industry figures.
