Dangote Petroleum Refinery has expanded its free petrol delivery programme to four additional states, bringing the number of locations covered by the initiative to 10.
The newly included states are Kano, Imo, Anambra and Nasarawa. They join Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kaduna, Delta and the Federal Capital Territory, which were already part of the programme.
Under the arrangement, eligible petroleum marketers can purchase petrol from the refinery at N1,165 per litre without paying additional transportation charges for delivery to the covered locations.
Marketers are also allowed a 10-day credit period to settle payment after receiving their fuel supplies, providing some relief from the upfront financial requirements associated with large-volume purchases.
To participate, marketers must purchase a minimum of 250,000 litres in a single transaction. The refinery said the offer is available to any marketer that meets the required threshold.
The expansion is expected to reduce the logistics costs associated with transporting petrol from coastal areas to inland markets. This could help marketers in states such as Kano and parts of the South-East manage distribution expenses and potentially offer petrol at more competitive prices.
However, the final price paid by consumers will depend on individual marketers and filling station operators.
Dangote Refinery said the programme is still being expanded and that additional states could be included in the future.
The initiative comes amid continued changes in petrol prices across Nigeria, with refiners, importers and marketers adjusting their rates in response to supply, logistics and market conditions.
The refinery has also indicated that it is preparing for a planned initial public offering, with the listing expected to commence in September 2026.
