Nigeria Hits Milestone with 100% Crude Pipeline Availability in June

Nigeria has reached a major milestone by recording full availability of its crude oil pipelines throughout June, a first in recent times.

Bayo Ojulari, the Group CEO of NNPC Limited, shared the news at the 24th NOG Energy Week. He said the achievement was made possible by coordinated security efforts across the oil and gas sector, which have already boosted crude oil production levels.

Ojulari called for more investment to maintain the progress, highlighting that NNPC has been meeting its funding commitments to joint venture partners, a sign of improved financial discipline. He added that the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA 2021) has given NNPC the authority to lead the funding of key oil and gas projects.

In another update, Ojulari confirmed that the $2.8 billion Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project has successfully crossed the River Niger, a major step forward after several delays. The breakthrough, achieved on June 26, was credited to contract restructuring and joint efforts within the industry.

He concluded by expressing hopes that future NOG conferences will focus less on talk and more on celebrating concrete achievements and signing investment deals.
