U.S. Sets New Oil Production Record

The United States has reached a historic high in crude oil production, averaging 13.58 million barrels per day in June, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). This is the highest monthly production level ever recorded.

Production growth in Texas, New Mexico, and the Gulf of Mexico drove this surge, reinforcing the U.S.’s position as the world’s top oil producer. Antonio Di Giacomo, Financial Markets Analyst at XS, noted that the milestone demonstrates the resilience of the U.S. energy sector despite global price fluctuations and investment challenges.

The DOE credited pro-growth policies and infrastructure support for the achievement, emphasizing that the country is now more energy dominant than ever.

The EIA forecasts that U.S. production could climb even higher, reaching around 13.6 million barrels per day by December 2025, with significant contributions from the Permian Basin, Bakken, Eagle Ford, and offshore Gulf operations.

Last year, the U.S. led global crude oil and condensate production with an average of 13.19 million barrels per day, further cementing its top position in the energy market.
