Energia Limited has appointed Oladimeji Bashorun as its Chief Executive Officer, following the departure of former CEO Chidi Egonu.
Bashorun steps into the top role after serving as the company’s Chief Operating Officer, where he oversaw day-to-day operations and helped shape long-term performance goals. The company said his elevation reflects years of operational oversight and strategic input that strengthened efficiency across its assets.
With more than 20 years in the oil and gas industry, Bashorun previously worked in technical and leadership capacities at Shell Petroleum Development Company and Sahara Upstream before joining Energia. His career spans asset management, operational stability, and performance improvement initiatives.
Chairman George Osahon said the board was confident Bashorun’s leadership would help deepen the company’s industry standing while sustaining value delivery to stakeholders. He noted that Bashorun’s track record as COO demonstrated strong commitment to operational excellence and growth.
Reacting to his appointment, Bashorun said he was honoured to lead the organisation and would work with the team to build on existing achievements. He added that the company would continue prioritising responsible energy development, operational strength, and stakeholder value.
Energia said it would, under the new leadership, intensify efforts to enhance operational performance, pursue strategic expansion opportunities, and contribute to Nigeria’s energy security while maintaining attention to environmental responsibility and host community relations.
