India Plans to Resume Oil Shipments Through Strait of Hormuz

India is preparing to restart crude oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz as it seeks to secure fresh energy supplies amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

Reports said the Indian government is working on plans to allow state-owned tankers to resume movement through the strategic waterway after months of disruption caused by regional conflict and security concerns.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most important oil routes, linking major Gulf oil producers to global markets. Shipping activities in the area slowed significantly following rising tensions involving Iran, forcing several countries and energy companies to review their transport operations.

India, one of the world’s biggest crude oil importers, has been under pressure to maintain stable fuel supplies as global oil prices remain volatile. Officials said Indian authorities are coordinating with naval and shipping agencies to ensure the safe movement of vessels through the region.

The move also comes as some international oil tankers have recently resumed passing through the Strait of Hormuz, raising hopes of a gradual recovery in global oil transportation despite continued geopolitical risks.
