SUMMARY:2026 Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC) - 10th Anniversary Edition
DESCRIPTION:Nigeria’s key oil and gas regulators\, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC)\, will headline discussions on industry reforms and investment opportunities at the 2026 Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC). \nBoth agencies have been confirmed as strategic partners for the 10th anniversary edition of SAIPEC\, scheduled to take place in Lagos from February 10 to 12\, 2026. Their participation is expected to focus on fiscal policies\, regulatory reforms and transformation initiatives driving renewed investor interest in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. \nOrganisers of the event said the anniversary programme will bring together senior policymakers\, regulators and executives from national oil companies across Africa\, reflecting SAIPEC’s growth over the past decade into a leading continental platform for energy dialogue and cooperation.\nAmong the confirmed speakers are the Executive Secretary of NCDMB\, Engr. Felix Ogbe\, and the Chief Executive of NUPRC\, Engr. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan. \nOther participants include Dr Emeafa Hardcastle of the Petroleum Commission of Ghana\, Proscovia Nabbanja of Uganda National Oil Company\, Fabian M. Lai of Liberia’s National Oil Company\, and senior officials from petroleum authorities in Sierra Leone\, The Gambia\, Niger Republic\, Zimbabwe and Côte d’Ivoire. \nAccording to the organisers\, many of the speakers have been long-time contributors to SAIPEC\, helping to shape its evolution into a trusted forum for policy dialogue\, regional collaboration and investment promotion. \nA major focus of the 2026 conference will be Nigeria’s ongoing oil licensing round\, with dedicated sessions expected to provide updates on regulatory frameworks\, available acreages and investment prospects. Country spotlight sessions will also highlight upstream\, gas and infrastructure opportunities across key African energy markets. \nBeyond conference sessions\, SAIPEC 2026 will feature structured business meetings\, executive receptions and networking events aimed at facilitating partnerships and deal-making across the energy value chain. \nThe event will also host one of the largest energy exhibitions in Sub-Saharan Africa\, with more than 150 exhibitors expected to showcase technologies\, services and solutions covering exploration\, production\, engineering\, digitalisation and the energy transition. \nSAIPEC 2026 is hosted by the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN)\, in partnership with NCDMB\, NNPC Limited\, NUPRC and AOS Orwell\, marking ten years since the launch of the conference.
