The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has shipped 950,000 barrels of its newly launched Cawthorne crude to the Netherlands. The export, loaded on the MT Eburones vessel from the Cawthorne FSO offshore Bonny, Rivers State, marks Nigeria’s latest step in expanding its crude portfolio.

Cawthorne is a light, sweet crude with an API gravity of 36.4, similar to Bonny Light, prized for high petrol and diesel yields. NNPC says the launch supports its strategy to diversify exports, optimize production, and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global oil market.
