Oil Firm Kicks Off Direct Fuel Supply from Dangote Refinery

Sixxco Oil Ltd has officially begun taking petroleum products directly from the Dangote Refinery in Lagos, marking a new phase in Nigeria’s downstream supply chain.

The oil marketing company confirmed that the first set of trucks loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and other products arrived on September 30 under Dangote’s Direct Delivery Scheme. The move is designed to reduce bottlenecks in the distribution system and ensure a steady, competitive flow of fuel across Rivers State.

Hubert Ngoka, Chief Executive Officer of Sixxco Oil Ltd, described the arrangement as a “game changer” for both the company and consumers. According to him, the new partnership will allow Sixxco to channel supplies directly to its network of filling stations and affiliated outlets, including Wise Star, Atlantic Affairs, Allteq, and Stanok Opak.

“This collaboration gives our stations the ability to stabilize pump prices while guaranteeing availability to customers,” Ngoka said. He added that the long-term plan is to expand the model as Dangote Refinery widens its nationwide reach.

Industry watchers believe the deal could reshape how fuel gets to end users in Nigeria by cutting out delays linked to third-party supply. With Sixxco among the first to activate the self-collection framework, its outlets are expected to gain a stronger competitive advantage.

Dangote Refinery, regarded as Africa’s largest single-train refinery, has been positioning itself as a central hub for domestic supply since commencing production earlier this year. Stakeholders say more partnerships of this nature will boost market stability and give consumers better access to petroleum products.
