OGE (Oil, Gas & Energy Journal) is a platform for thoughtful analysis, expert commentary, and in-depth reporting on the global energy landscape — from oil markets and gas infrastructure to renewables, policy shifts, and emerging technologies. We welcome pitches from outside contributors and are always interested in new voices and fresh perspectives. However, we accept and publish only a select number of unsolicited articles, so please read the guidelines below before submitting.

REPORTERS & INDUSTRY WRITERS:

We’re looking for original reporting and well-researched features that bring clarity to complex energy issues — from upstream operations and market dynamics to environmental policy and technological innovation. Your story can be local or global in focus but must offer valuable insight to professionals, stakeholders, and policymakers in the energy sector. 

What to send: A 1–3 paragraph pitch explaining what you already know, how you plan to report further, your access and expertise, and most importantly — why the story matters to the OGE readership. Do not send completed drafts without prior approval. Links to previous work are encouraged.

COMMENTARY, ANALYSIS & ESSAYS:

We publish essays that offer original perspectives on key trends, policy debates, and innovations shaping the future of oil, gas, and energy. We are especially interested in ideas that challenge conventional wisdom or illuminate emerging issues. We are not looking for promotional content, advocacy pieces, or partisan takes.

What to send: A 1–3 paragraph pitch outlining your core argument, your relevant expertise or lived experience, and how the piece adds something new to the conversation. You may attach a draft if you have one, but we strongly prefer pitches.
