Heirs Energies has commissioned a new Integrated Operations Monitoring Centre (IOMC) for its OML 17 Joint Venture, introducing a digital platform designed to improve the monitoring and management of its upstream oil and gas operations.
Developed in partnership with technology firm Redtech, the facility brings together production data, security surveillance, hydrocarbon evacuation, asset performance and other critical operational information into a single control centre. The company said the integrated system is expected to enhance operational efficiency by providing real-time visibility of activities across the asset.
Speaking during the unveiling, the Chief Executive Officer of Heirs Energies, Osa Igiehon, said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to using technology to strengthen operational performance and support faster decision-making.
According to him, access to real-time operational data will enable the company to improve collaboration, boost efficiency and enhance the safety and resilience of its operations at OML 17.
The company explained that the monitoring centre is designed to support production optimisation, asset integrity and risk management by consolidating information from multiple operational systems into one digital platform.
It added that the facility also enhances the protection of remote installations through advanced surveillance and intrusion detection systems, allowing for quicker identification of security threats and faster emergency response.
Heirs Energies noted that the platform has been built with future expansion in mind and will support advanced capabilities such as predictive analytics, artificial intelligence-driven decision support, remote operations and more sophisticated production optimisation.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Redtech, Emmanuel Ojo, said the project highlights the role of digital innovation in improving industrial operations. He said the collaboration has produced a platform that simplifies operations, strengthens monitoring and enables quicker operational responses while delivering measurable value to the energy sector.
The company also highlighted its operational progress since taking over operatorship of OML 17 in 2021. It said production has risen to more than 50,000 barrels of oil per day, while domestic gas supply has increased to over 135 million standard cubic feet per day as part of its brownfield asset development strategy.
According to Heirs Energies, the introduction of the new monitoring centre represents another step in its digital transformation efforts and reinforces its focus on safe, efficient and technology-driven energy production.
