Wale Edun, Nigeria’s finance minister, revealed that the U.S. is exploring investment opportunities in the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline (NMGP).
This came after high-level discussions during the 2025 IMF-World Bank spring meetings in Washington DC.”
The U.S. emphasised the importance of continued engagement to showcase Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms and attract investor confidence,” Edun said.
The U.S. is particularly interested in Nigeria’s vast natural gas reserves and infrastructure projects, including digital connectivity and agriculture.
Edun added, “We also had discussions with the Gates Foundation, which expressed interest in supporting Nigeria’s efforts to close funding gaps.”
The NMGP, a significant energy project, is seen as a key collaboration between Nigeria, Morocco, and other West African nations.
