Tinubu’s reforms are driving refinery growth -Dangote

President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has said the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are supporting the growth of Nigeria’s domestic refining industry.

Dangote said the reforms had created a more favourable environment for investments and were helping to strengthen the operations of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex.

He noted that government policies aimed at expanding local refining capacity, reducing dependence on imported petroleum products and improving energy security were contributing to the refinery’s progress.

According to Dangote, the reforms are also improving the wider business environment by giving companies greater certainty to plan investments and expand their operations.

He said the refinery’s rising production capacity and growing export activities were contributing to Nigeria’s economy through foreign exchange earnings, job creation and stronger local supply chains.

Dangote added that the refinery was increasingly positioning Nigeria as an important energy and manufacturing hub while supporting the country’s push for greater self-sufficiency in petroleum products.

He acknowledged that economic reforms often come with initial challenges but said their benefits were becoming more visible through improved economic activity, industrial productivity and renewed investor interest.

The Dangote Group chief also reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in strategic sectors, including refining, petrochemicals and fertiliser production.

He expressed confidence that continued policy consistency and stronger collaboration between government and private businesses would further expand investment in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry and strengthen the country’s position as a major energy hub.
