Investors will be able to acquire shares in the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE with as little as N5,250 under the company’s planned initial public offering.
The minimum subscription represents 10 ordinary shares priced at N525 each, Dangote Group Chief Executive Officer, Aliko Dangote, announced on Monday at the formal signing ceremony for the offer in Lagos.
The proposed IPO will involve 4.1 billion ordinary shares, with the company targeting proceeds of slightly above N2 trillion. Dangote said part of the funds raised would support the expansion of the refinery.
He explained that the share offer was also structured to make ownership accessible to a broad section of Nigerians, rather than limiting participation to large investors.
Dangote said workers and individuals across different income levels would have the opportunity to invest in the refinery through the offer, describing it as a public offering designed for ordinary Nigerians.
The billionaire businessman said the initiative would allow subscribers to build long-term wealth through ownership of the refinery and benefit from its future growth.
The IPO is therefore expected to serve two major purposes: providing funding for the refinery’s expansion and broadening public ownership of the major industrial facility.
The offer is part of Dangote Group’s wider plan to bring more Nigerians into the ownership of its businesses while supporting the continued expansion of the refinery.
