Nigeria Leads the Way at World Gas Conference 2025 in Beijing

Nigeria is set to make a bold statement at the World Gas Conference (WGC) 2025 in Beijing, with a powerhouse delegation led by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), H.E. Rt. Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, PhD.

The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) confirmed the presence of top energy figures including NNPC Ltd CEO Mr. Bayo Ojulari, NMDPRA’s Engr. Farouk Ahmed, NCDMB’s Engr. Felix Ogbe, and other heavyweights from the public and private sectors.

Nigeria’s participation aims to position gas as the “pillar of its economic future.”“This is more than an event; it’s a statement of Africa’s energy renaissance,” said NGA President Akachukwu Nwokedi. “We’re rallying government and industry behind one mission—elevating Nigeria’s energy narrative.”

The Nigerian Pavilion will spotlight investment opportunities, policy reforms, and technical innovations, backed by leading firms including NLNG, Shell Nigeria, Oando, Aiteo, and others.

Minister Ekpo noted, “It is a great honour to lead this delegation. We are open for massive investment in gas with policies that guarantee returns.”

The event, themed “Energising a Sustainable Future”, runs from May 19–23, 2025, and will host over 30,000 participants from around the globe.
