The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has demolished illegal structures built within its power transmission Right of Way (RoW) in Kano.

The two-day operation, carried out in the Panshekara and Reka areas on April 23–24, targeted encroachments threatening key power lines like the Kano-Zaria and Kano-Kankia routes.

TCN warned that the presence of buildings and trading activities under high-voltage lines is a serious safety risk and violates the 25m (for 330kV) and 15m (for 132kV) clearance rules.

The crackdown, led by TCN’s Anti-Vandalism Committee, will extend to other regions to secure power infrastructure nationwide.
