Oil Industry Powers Iran’s Economic Engine – Gov’t Spokesperson

The oil industry remains a cornerstone of Iran’s economy and a key driver of national development, according to government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 29th Iran Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition on Saturday, Mohajerani described the sector as “the driving force behind the country’s development” and emphasized its vital role in boosting knowledge-based companies.

“This exhibition is a meeting place for supply and demand and plays an effective role in displaying the technological capabilities and achievements of knowledge-based companies,” she said, praising the event’s contribution to innovation and collaboration.

After visiting various booths, Mohajerani expressed admiration for the progress on display. “I am proud to be an Iranian. Today, I witnessed extraordinary advancements up close, and in this chain, the role of technical knowledge and young engineers is clearly visible,” she added.

Mohajerani also underscored the growing synergy between the oil sector and academia, noting its potential to impact not just energy, but the broader economy.

The exhibition, attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian, features over 2,000 domestic and international companies and aims to spotlight investment opportunities and cutting-edge technology in Iran’s energy sector.
