FG, FIRST E&P Push for Stakeholder Collaboration in Niger Delta Development

The Federal Government and FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company (FIRST E&P) have urged stakeholders in Niger Delta oil-producing communities to collaborate for sustainable development.

Speaking at the KEFFESO Stakeholders Forum in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, they highlighted the importance of the Host Communities Development Trust (KHCDT) established under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021.

The event gathered over 100 community representatives and industry players, focusing on actionable strategies for socio-economic growth in the region.

Both government and industry leaders stressed the need for transparency, governance, and equitable resource management to ensure long-term benefits for local communities.
