Host Communities Urged to Invest Oil Funds in Sustainable Development

Host communities in Nigeria’s oil-producing regions have been urged to focus on impactful development projects using funds allocated to their trusts.

Dr. Benjamin Tamaranebi, National President of Host Communities of Nigeria Producing Oil and Gas (HostCom), emphasized the need for responsible use of billions in funds to enhance local infrastructure, education, and human development.

He criticized the misuse of funds in frivolous projects and urged proper allocation in the communities.

The call came during a Town Hall meeting in Port Harcourt with stakeholders, including the NUPRC, to ensure sustainable development in the Niger Delta.
