TCN Restores Power to Northern Nigeria After Shiroro-Mando Line Repair

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has reinstated electricity supply to parts of Kaduna and Niger states following repairs on the Shiroro-Mando 330kV line, which was disrupted last week.

TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah confirmed that bulk power transmission on the Shiroro–Mando Line II was fully restored at 11:56 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The outage had started on Friday, November 28, leaving significant portions of the region without electricity.

According to TCN, security challenges along the line route caused delays in accessing and repairing the fault, temporarily prolonging the blackout.

Meanwhile, electricity supply in parts of Abuja continues to face interruptions. The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company reported that some areas have been without power for more than three days due to ongoing maintenance at the Katampe Transmission Substation.
