China and India Lead as Top Buyers of Iraq’s Seaborne Oil in November

China and India dominated Iraq’s seaborne oil exports in November, taking the largest shares of shipments from the Middle Eastern country. China imported around 1.22 million barrels per day, marking a noticeable increase from last year, while India received about 832,000 barrels per day.

According to data reported by Attaqa News, China’s imports grew by over 120,000 barrels per day compared to November 2024, when shipments averaged 1.1 million barrels per day. Conversely, Iraq’s oil exports to India declined sharply by 228,000 barrels per day from the same period last year.

Preliminary figures indicate that roughly 376,000 barrels per day were sent to an unspecified destination, with analysts suggesting most of it likely reached Beijing.

Other buyers also saw changes in their intake of Iraqi crude. South Korea’s imports rose slightly to 297,000 barrels per day from 293,000 barrels per day in November 2024. Turkey’s purchases increased more significantly, climbing to over 165,000 barrels per day, up from approximately 128,000 barrels per day the previous year.
