Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Temitope George as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LSERC), a key step aimed at strengthening governance and driving reforms in the state’s power sector.

The appointment, announced through a circular by Head of Service Bode Agoro, awaits confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly before it becomes official. The governor’s approval signals a strategic move to bolster regulatory oversight and enhance the efficiency of the electricity market in Lagos.

Temitope George brings over two decades of experience in energy, infrastructure, legal practice, and public governance. She currently serves as Lead Partner for Energy, Infrastructure, and Policy at Adegbola-George & Co. Her career has involved advising governments, multinational firms, and development agencies, particularly in the areas of energy, construction, and public–private partnerships.

George has also played a pivotal role in structuring major infrastructure projects, navigating regulatory negotiations, and ensuring compliance with local and international governance standards. Experts believe her leadership will be crucial in shaping effective electricity regulation and improving investor confidence in Lagos.

The LSERC is expected to play a central role in protecting consumer interests, increasing sector efficiency, and supporting the state’s push for improved electricity service delivery.
