Eleven vessels loaded with aviation fuel, petrol, diesel, and other key imports have arrived at Lagos’ major ports this week, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) confirmed. The ships are now stationed at Lekki Deep Sea Port, Tin‑Can Island, and Apapa Ports, preparing to offload their cargo.
The arrivals include tankers carrying petroleum products as well as ships transporting bulk gas and other commodities essential for industrial and energy operations across the country.
According to the NPA’s Shipping Position update, these arrivals are part of a larger wave of maritime traffic expected through the end of January. In addition to the 11 newly docked vessels, 31 more ships carrying petroleum products, food items, and assorted goods are scheduled to berth at Lagos ports between January 21 and January 31.
Port officials say this steady inflow highlights the continued role of Lagos ports as a critical hub for keeping Nigeria’s fuel and essential goods supply chains moving. The smooth offloading and processing of these shipments are expected to support both domestic fuel availability and industrial activity nationwide.
