Russian President Vladimir Putin has raised concerns about a potential attack on the TurkStream and Blue Stream natural gas pipelines that supply Türkiye. He said intelligence reports suggest there may be attempts to sabotage these undersea pipelines in the Black Sea.
Putin linked the alleged threat to efforts aimed at disrupting ongoing negotiations over the war in Ukraine. Speaking during a meeting with the Federal Security Service (FSB), he emphasized the need to strengthen protection for Russia’s energy and transport infrastructure.
Both TurkStream and Blue Stream are key pipelines that transport Russian natural gas directly to Türkiye. Putin warned that the threat could involve explosions targeting these underwater pipelines and ordered the FSB to increase security measures for all critical infrastructure.
