The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has increased the pump price of petrol again, marking the second adjustment within four days.
The state-owned oil company raised the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N967 per litre, up from N960 per litre, representing a N7 increase.
Checks on Saturday showed that the new price had already taken effect at several NNPCL retail outlets across Abuja and surrounding areas.
This latest adjustment follows an earlier increase earlier in the week when the company moved its petrol price from N875 per litre to N960 per litre.
Other fuel stations in the Federal Capital Territory have also reviewed their pump prices, with petrol now selling between N967 and N1,000 per litre in some locations.
The fresh price changes come as global crude oil prices surged by about nine percent, pushing Brent crude and West Texas Intermediate above $90 per barrel.
Earlier in the week, Dangote Refinery also raised its petrol loading price for marketers, citing rising crude oil costs linked to tensions in the Middle East.
The back-to-back price adjustments have raised concerns among motorists and consumers, as petrol prices continue to fluctuate amid global oil market developments.
