Iran Targets 80% Refining Recovery in Two Months

Iran says it is working to quickly repair damage to its fuel production network after recent attacks on key energy facilities, with officials aiming to restore up to 80 percent of refining capacity within one to two months.

Deputy Oil Minister Mohammad Sadeq Azimifar said repair efforts are already underway at affected sites. He noted that part of the Lavan Refinery is expected to resume operations in about 10 days, while other units will gradually return online.

The damage follows strikes linked to rising tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel, which have targeted parts of Iran’s energy infrastructure in recent weeks.
Officials say priority is being given to restoring fuel supply and stabilising distribution across the country to prevent shortages.

The attacks have also unsettled global oil markets, raising concerns about supply disruptions and shipping safety in the Gulf region. Despite the setbacks, Iranian authorities remain confident that most of the refining system will return to near-normal capacity if repairs proceed as planned.
