Adesa Energy Debuts with Bold Plan to Cut Nigeria’s Petrol Dependence

In a bold leap from media to energy innovation, media entrepreneur Femi Adeleye has launched Adesa Energy, a clean energy startup focused on mobile compressed natural gas (CNG) solutions for Nigeria’s transport sector.

The unveiling of the company coincided with Adeleye’s 30th birthday, symbolizing a new personal and professional chapter. “Turning 30 isn’t just personal — it’s purposeful,” Adeleye said at the soft launch.

Adesa Energy aims to reduce Nigeria’s heavy reliance on petrol and diesel by offering CNG vehicle conversions, mobile refueling services, and clean energy training. The venture targets both commercial fleet operators and individual motorists, with long-term plans to expand across Africa.

“This is about building something that matters — something that can help solve real energy problems while creating jobs and cleaner cities,” Adeleye added.

Operating under the broader Adesa HQ brand, the new company marks Adeleye’s shift from brand storytelling, through Adesa Media, into sustainable solutions.

“Adesa Media taught me how to shape perception. Adesa Energy is about shaping solutions,” he said.

Rather than a grand public celebration, the launch was quietly marked with close family and a moment of reflection. Adeleye described the move as his way of expressing gratitude and embracing the future.

Adesa Energy is currently preparing for pilot programs, stakeholder engagements, and partnerships to support Nigeria’s clean energy transition.
