African Energy Week (AEW), the continent’s biggest energy event, is set to return to Cape Town from September 29 to October 3, bringing together governments, investors, and industry leaders to explore fresh opportunities across the oil, gas, and power sectors.
This year’s edition, themed Invest in African Energies 2025, will showcase country spotlight sessions where policymakers will share updates on regulatory reforms, investment openings, and challenges in markets such as Nigeria, South Africa, Angola, Senegal, Namibia, Egypt, and more.
A major highlight will be high-level roundtables and forums, including the OPEC-Africa Roundtable, US-Africa Critical Minerals Roundtable, Local Content Forum, Russia-Africa Roundtable, and the Deal Room. These sessions are expected to unlock financing, partnerships, and new project agreements.
Alongside panel discussions, AEW will also create space for networking and collaboration through its gala awards, women-in-energy lunch, concerts, business breakfasts, and side events designed to connect African firms with global partners.
NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber, said the forum comes at a crucial time as Africa seeks to strengthen its position in the global energy transition. He noted that the event is designed to advance partnerships, attract capital, and redefine the continent’s energy landscape.
The expanded programme includes tracks on upstream exploration and production, energy finance, power infrastructure, and renewable energy, covering everything from deepwater oil projects to hydrogen and carbon capture.
Confirmed speakers include President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune of Algeria, President Faustin-Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic, and President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, alongside energy ministers from over a dozen African nations and senior executives of global energy companies.
Now firmly established as the go-to platform for investment in Africa’s energy sector, AEW 2025 is expected to seal major deals and set the tone for the continent’s future energy direction.
