Chevron Announces New Leadership Roles

Chevron has announced a reshuffle of its senior leadership team, with four executives set to take on new responsibilities from January 1, 2027.

Under the changes, Mark Nelson will continue as vice chairman but will move his focus to strategy and business development. He will also work on opportunities aimed at strengthening Chevron’s portfolio and supporting the company’s long-term growth.

Eimear Bonner, who currently serves as chief financial officer, will become president of Oil, Products & Gas. She will oversee operations across Chevron’s value chain, including capital allocation, asset performance and efforts to improve the company’s overall business efficiency.

Jeff Gustavson, currently president of New Energies, will take over as chief financial officer. His new responsibilities will include financial planning, investor relations, taxation, treasury, auditing and controller functions globally.

Brent Gros, the company’s current president of Offshore, will succeed Gustavson as president of New Energies. He will lead Chevron’s lower-carbon businesses, covering areas such as hydrogen, power, carbon capture, carbon offsets and biofuels. Gros will also oversee the company’s artificial intelligence strategy, with a focus on improving operations, reducing costs and driving innovation.

Chevron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Wirth said the four executives bring extensive operational experience and strategic expertise that would support the company as the energy industry continues to evolve.
