Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced fresh reductions in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), with the new rates taking effect from Thursday, August 6.

Under the revised pricing, the refinery lowered the ex-depot price of petrol by ₦50, bringing it down from ₦1,215 to ₦1,165 per litre. Diesel also saw a price cut of ₦80 per litre, dropping from ₦1,650 to ₦1,570.

The company said the adjustment is part of its efforts to make refined petroleum products more affordable for consumers while improving access to fuel for businesses and households across the country.

According to the refinery, the latest review is expected to support economic activities by easing fuel costs and ensuring a steady supply of petroleum products to the domestic market.

The company added that it remains focused on improving operational efficiency, enabling it to transfer cost savings to customers whenever market conditions allow.

Dangote Refinery also reiterated its role in strengthening Nigeria’s energy security by boosting local refining capacity and reducing dependence on imported petroleum products.

The refinery said it will continue to support the country’s economic growth through the supply of refined fuels while maintaining reliable product availability for marketers and other stakeholders.
