Dangote Refinery Denies Petrol Price Increase

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has dismissed reports claiming it raised the ex-depot price of petrol to N1,350 per litre, stating that its current pricing remains unchanged.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the refinery said it has decided to maintain its existing petrol price despite rising operational costs and uncertainties in the global energy market.

The company explained that keeping prices stable is part of its effort to support the local economy, reduce pressure on consumers, and ensure the steady availability of fuel across the country.

According to the refinery, absorbing additional costs will help limit inflationary effects and improve energy affordability for Nigerians at a time of continued volatility in international markets.

The refinery also reaffirmed its commitment to supplying high-quality petroleum products consistently while contributing to Nigeria’s energy security goals.

It advised marketers, stakeholders, and the general public to depend only on official communication from the company for accurate information regarding fuel pricing and operations.

Earlier in March, the refinery reduced its ex-depot petrol price from N1,275 to N1,200 per litre, representing a N75 decrease aimed at easing fuel costs.
