Don’t Pay for Fake Contracts – NUPRC

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has warned the public to be vigilant against fraudsters falsely claiming to offer contracts on the commission’s behalf.

According to a statement from Eniola Akinkuotu, Head of Corporate Communication and Media at NUPRC, these scammers often use social media and other channels to deceive people, asking for money in exchange for fake contracts.

“NUPRC contracts are awarded transparently in line with the Public Procurement Act, 2007, and other relevant regulations,” the commission said. “Anyone dealing with individuals claiming to offer contracts outside official channels risks losing their money.”

The commission urged interested parties to verify contract opportunities only through its official website or trusted newspapers, and avoid engaging with anyone who requests payment for supposed contracts.
With the warning, NUPRC emphasizes its commitment to transparency and calls on the public to report any suspicious activity to the commission.
