Eko Disco appoints Wola Joseph-Condotti as interim CEO

Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko Disco) has announced the appointment of Wola Joseph-Condotti as its interim Chief Executive Officer, marking a key leadership change following the company’s recent ownership transition.

Sources familiar with the development confirmed that Joseph-Condotti assumed the role on Monday, January 12, 2026, after the resignation of Rekhiat Momoh, who stepped down after nearly two years as CEO.

The appointment was formally disclosed a day later during a town hall meeting addressed by Engineer Olubunmi Peters, Chairman of TransGrid Consortium and the newly appointed Chairman of Eko Disco.

The leadership change comes shortly after TransGrid Consortium completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Eko Disco, less than two weeks before the appointment.

The deal represents a major shift in the company’s ownership structure and signals a new phase in its corporate strategy.
Joseph-Condotti brings extensive experience in Nigeria’s power sector to the interim role.

Before her appointment, she served as Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of West Power & Gas Limited, the former parent company of Eko Disco. She is also widely regarded as a seasoned legal and energy sector professional, with decades of industry experience.

Her career includes a long stint at Eko Disco, where she spent about ten years as Chief Legal and Company Secretary. During that period, she also oversaw critical functions such as regulatory compliance, customer service, human resources, data protection, and corporate governance.
Meanwhile, outgoing CEO Rekhiat Momoh has formally retired after a 33-year career spanning NEPA, PHCN, and Eko Disco. In a farewell message to staff, she expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the company and praised employees for their commitment and support throughout her tenure.

Momoh, who is from Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, held several senior roles during her career, including General Manager (Commercial), Assistant General Manager (Marketing), and District Manager for strategic areas such as Orile, Mushin, and Apapa.

Her background in operations, marketing, and customer service positioned her as one of the most experienced executives in Nigeria’s power distribution sector.

Industry observers see Joseph-Condotti’s interim appointment as a move aimed at ensuring stability and continuity during a period of transition. With TransGrid Consortium now in control, stakeholders expect renewed focus on operational efficiency, customer service improvement, and regulatory compliance.

The change in leadership also reflects a broader trend of increased female representation at the top levels of Nigeria’s electricity distribution companies, including Eko Disco and Ikeja Electric.

TransGrid Enerco Limited recently concluded the acquisition of a 60% controlling stake in Eko Disco in a transaction valued at about ₦360 billion.

The deal, finalized on December 30, 2025, ranks among the largest private takeovers in Nigeria’s power distribution industry since the sector was privatized in 2013.
