Energy company LEKOIL will feature as a Silver Partner at this year’s African Energy Week (AEW): Invest in African Energies 2025, highlighting its production growth targets and focus on sustainability.
The firm is working towards producing 250,000 barrels of oil per day in the medium term, relying on quick project delivery, advanced technology, and collaborations to boost output. Its asset base includes both marginal and offshore fields, with OPL 310 offshore Lagos—holding over 700 million barrels of recoverable resources—seen as a key driver of future growth.
In line with its broader vision, LEKOIL recently partnered with the Akwa Ibom State Government to stimulate investments in oil and gas, agriculture, infrastructure and community projects. The company says this approach combines energy development with job creation and local empowerment.
ESG values are central to its strategy, with efforts to cut environmental impact, ensure transparent operations and support social programs in host communities.
LEKOIL has a record of fast delivery, with the Otakikpo field in Rivers State moving from acquisition to production in only 18 months back in 2014—a pace that set it apart among Nigerian operators.
According to African Energy Chamber executive Tomás Gerbasio, the company’s blend of technical expertise, governance focus and alignment with Nigeria’s reforms shows how indigenous players can achieve growth while creating social impact.
At AEW 2025, LEKOIL’s CFO Edward During and CTO Sam Olotu will share updates on ongoing projects and its ESG-driven expansion plans.
The annual energy summit remains one of Africa’s biggest platforms for connecting governments, investors and industry leaders.
