The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has chosen Salimon Oladiti as its new national president following its 6th Quadrennial Delegates Conference held in Lagos on Friday.
Oladiti, who previously served as a National Trustee of the union, was elected to lead the powerful oil and gas workers’ body after the conclusion of the conference.
Alongside him, Akin Oladejo, former Chairman of the Oil and Gas Supply Branch, was voted in as the Deputy President.
The leadership change marks a new phase for the union as it continues to represent workers across Nigeria’s petroleum and natural gas industry.
More details from the conference are expected to be released in due course.
