OEUK Extends Deadline for 2025 Offshore Energy Awards Nominations

The UK’s leading offshore energy body, Offshore Energies UK (OEUK), has announced an extension for nominations for its 2025 annual awards, giving participants until August 11 to submit their entries. The extra time allows more industry professionals to spotlight outstanding achievements across the UK’s evolving offshore energy landscape.

This year’s ceremony will be held on November 20 at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland. As one of the industry’s most anticipated events, it’s expected to draw over 550 guests, including top executives, policymakers, and media figures.

The awards aim to honour excellence in various fields—ranging from oil and gas to renewables such as wind, hydrogen, and carbon capture. In a bid to recognize innovation in sustainability, OEUK has introduced a new category: Outstanding Contribution to Circular Economy, which will highlight companies advancing reuse and repurposing practices.

Other award categories include:

Apprentice of the Year

Early Career Professional of the Year

People & Culture

Contribution to Energy Security

Contribution to Decarbonization

Innovative Supply Chain Company (for both SMEs and large enterprises)

Neighbor of the Year

Nominations have also been extended for the Excellence in Decommissioning award, which will be presented during OEUK’s Offshore Decommissioning Conference on November 25.

OEUK CEO David Whitehouse emphasized the importance of recognizing talent and innovation shaping the future of UK offshore energy. “With this extension, we’re encouraging more voices to participate in spotlighting the people and organizations making a real difference—especially those pushing for a more sustainable and secure energy future,” he said.

This follows the successful 2025 Offshore Safety Awards, held in July, where several individuals and teams were celebrated for their efforts to uphold safety standards across the sector. Winners included representatives from Shell UK, Anasuria Operating Company, and PBS, among others. A standout this year was Darren Sutherland of Borr Drilling, who received the newly introduced Outstanding Contribution to Safety Award.

OEUK describes the awards as a major calendar event that celebrates the drive, resilience, and innovation within the offshore energy sector. The organization, which has represented the industry for over 50 years, continues to support and promote best practices and excellence across the board.
