Renaissance Africa Energy, a Nigerian-owned energy group, has joined African Energy Week (AEW) 2025 as a Silver Partner. The event will be held in Cape Town from September 29 to October 3.
The company is making headlines after a strong start to the year, beating its oil production target by 40% in its first month. Riding on that success, Renaissance has announced a huge $15 billion investment plan over the next five years. The goal is to grow Nigeria’s oil and gas output, build new pipelines, and double the country’s domestic gas supply—especially in the Niger Delta.
This comes months after Renaissance bought Shell’s onshore oil and gas assets in Nigeria for $1.3 billion, a move that shifted control of those assets to local companies.
The group is made up of ND Western Ltd., Aradel Holdings, FIRST E&P, Waltersmith Group, and Petrolin. Together, they currently produce about 100,000 barrels of oil per day and hold assets worth around $3 billion.
Renaissance also aims to increase gas production from 150 million to 300 million standard cubic feet per day, supported by major projects like the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline.
Energy leaders say Renaissance’s growth shows how Nigerian companies are stepping up to lead the industry and strengthen the country’s energy future.
