Shell Sees Global LNG Market Growing 3% Annually as Supply Expands

The global liquefied natural gas (LNG) market is expected to grow by about 3 percent each year, outpacing the wider natural gas sector, according to Shell chief executive officer Wael Sawan. He made the remarks at an international LNG conference in Doha, Qatar, highlighting strong momentum on both the supply and demand sides of the market.

Sawan said LNG trade has expanded rapidly in recent years as countries seek more flexible and reliable energy sources. That growth trend is set to continue, with a major increase in supply expected toward the end of the decade.
