Zelenskyy confirms strikes on Russian oil, logistics sites

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday that Ukrainian forces carried out long-range strikes on oil and logistics facilities in Russia’s Moscow and Tambov regions.

In a post on X, Zelenskyy said the attacks were launched in response to continued Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities and civilian infrastructure. He said two major logistics facilities, located more than 500 kilometres and nearly 700 kilometres from the front line, were targeted because they were allegedly used to supply sanctioned components for drone production and navigation equipment.

He added that an oil facility was also hit, while Ukrainian forces struck additional targets in the Sea of Azov, the Black Sea and Russian-occupied Crimea.

Zelenskyy commended Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Special Operations Forces, Armed Forces, Security Service of Ukraine and Defence Intelligence for carrying out what he described as coordinated and precise operations.

Russia had not commented on the claims at the time of reporting, and the details could not be independently verified.
