TCN Restores Power Supply to Ajah-Lekki 330kV Transmission Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has restored electricity supply to the Ajah–Lekki 330kV transmission line following a disruption that affected the Ajah transmission substation.

The company said power was restored at approximately 3:18 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

According to TCN, the Ajah 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation lost supply at about 12:40 p.m. on October 19 after a system disturbance affected both Egbin–Ajah 330kV transmission lines.

The company also disclosed that efforts to close the gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) circuit breaker at the Lekki Transmission Substation were unsuccessful because of pole discordance.

TCN did not provide further details on the cause of the technical issue or its impact on electricity distribution to customers in the affected areas.
