Nigerian petroleum marketers have cut petrol prices in Abuja following Dangote Refinery’s recent price reduction.
Observations by a DAILY POST correspondent revealed that MRS Filling Stations along Kubwa and Lugbe Expressway, Bova at Berger, and AP Ardova PLC at Lifecamp Junction have all lowered their petrol prices to ₦895 per litre from the previous ₦910.
The spokesperson for the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) told DAILY POST, “Our members will have to review their prices downward to remain competitive, following Dangote Refinery’s latest petrol price cut.”
Dangote Refinery, which processes 650,000 barrels per day, introduced a new price template on Thursday, cutting petrol prices by ₦15 per litre nationwide. The refinery now sells petrol between ₦875 and ₦905 per litre, down from ₦890 to ₦910.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and other retailers in Abuja still sell fuel between ₦910 and ₦920 per litre.
For example, Empire Filling Station and Ranoil have adjusted prices to ₦919 and ₦910 per litre respectively.
This adjustment reflects efforts by marketers to stay competitive as Dangote Refinery leads the way on fuel price reductions.
