Heirs Energies CEO to Push for Africa’s Energy Self-Reliance at U.S.-Africa Forum

Osa Igiehon, Chief Executive Officer of Heirs Energies, will speak at the 2025 U.S.-Africa Energy Forum in Houston, Texas, where he will advocate for strategies to help Africa overcome its energy challenges and achieve long-term energy security.

The event, set for August 6–7 at the Post Oak Hotel, will bring together leaders from both African and U.S. governments, financial institutions, and the private sector to explore investment and innovation opportunities across the energy industry. Igiehon will share insights on Africa’s energy future and participate in a panel focused on exploration and sustainable development.

Heirs Energies—touted as the largest integrated energy firm fully owned by Africans—operates across the oil and gas value chain and is focused on boosting energy access across the continent. The company is investing in infrastructure and innovation to deliver consistent energy to communities, industries, and households.

According to Igiehon, Africa’s energy future lies in unlocking untapped reserves and improving the management of mature fields. He stressed that indigenous companies are well-positioned to lead this transformation using global best practices.

The company’s strategy is guided by the Africapitalism philosophy of its parent firm, Heirs Holdings, which supports private-sector investment that generates both economic and social benefits. At the forum, Heirs Energies will present how this approach is being applied through responsible field management, gas development, and partnerships that build local expertise while encouraging international collaboration.

In line with this mission, the company is advancing its gas monetization efforts by supplying three power plants in Eastern Nigeria and expanding its infrastructure to support the country’s energy needs.

“We believe every unit of gas should make a difference—whether it’s powering homes or driving industrial growth,” Igiehon said.

Heirs Energies’ presence at the forum highlights its dedication to driving Africa’s energy progress in a way that balances local development with global sustainability standards.
