The Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria (NOGASA) has instructed its members to resume delivering petroleum products to telecom infrastructure firm IHS, ending a recent halt in supply over unpaid debts.
National President Bennett Okorie announced the decision at a press briefing in Abuja on Saturday, explaining that the suspension was prompted by outstanding payments running into billions of naira. He said the reversal followed assurances from the Office of the National Security Adviser and the Nigerian Communications Commission that the dispute would be settled starting Monday.
“In the interest of keeping Nigeria’s telecom network stable, our National Executive Council has agreed to resume supply for the next seven days,” Okorie stated. “If there’s no resolution within that period, we will withdraw services again without further notice.”
NOGASA urged its members to work round the clock where possible to compensate for the disruption and warned that the grace period would not be extended if the debts remain unpaid.
