Crude oil prices inched higher on Tuesday after the United States and China agreed to extend their suspension of tariffs for another 90 days.
October Brent crude traded at $66.87 a barrel, up 0.36%, while September WTI rose 0.31% to $64.16. On India’s Multi Commodity Exchange, August crude futures were at ₹5,633, 0.37% higher than the previous close, and September contracts gained 0.43% to ₹5,576.
US President Donald Trump announced the extension on Truth Social, saying he had signed an executive order to maintain the suspension, with all other terms of the trade agreement remaining the same.
The move eased market concerns over trade tensions between the two largest economies, providing short-term support to oil prices.
