A new clean energy start-up, Adesa Energy, is gearing up for pilot rollouts, stakeholder engagement, and strategic partnerships as it looks to revolutionize Nigeria’s transport sector with mobile Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) solutions.
The company, founded by media entrepreneur Femi Adeleye, officially launched this week, marking a major pivot from communications to sustainable innovation. The unveiling also coincided with Adeleye’s 30th birthday.
“Turning 30 isn’t just personal — it’s purposeful,” Adeleye said during the soft launch. “This is about building something that matters, something that can help solve real energy problems while creating jobs and cleaner cities.”
Adesa Energy aims to reduce Nigeria’s heavy dependence on petrol and diesel by offering CNG vehicle conversions, mobile refueling solutions, and clean energy training. The company is targeting both commercial fleet operators and individual motorists, with ambitions to scale operations across Africa.
“Adesa Media taught me how to shape perception. Adesa Energy is about shaping solutions,” Adeleye explained, referencing his earlier work in brand storytelling through Adesa Media, a firm that supported NGOs, start-ups, and corporates with communication strategies.
The new venture falls under the broader Adesa HQ umbrella, signaling a significant expansion into the energy-tech space.
The founder chose a quiet family moment for the launch, stating that beginning this new journey on his birthday was his way of showing gratitude and embracing the future.
Adesa Energy says its mission goes beyond fuel, focusing on future-proofing transport, creating green jobs, and improving urban air quality in Nigeria and beyond.
