Azerbaijan’s Oil Prices Go Up, Reaching $72 per Barrel

The price of Azerbaijan’s Azeri Light crude has risen in global markets, marking a boost for the country’s energy sector.

On February 19, the price at Italy’s Augusta port increased by $1.83, or 2.58%, reaching $72.78 per barrel. At Türkiye’s Ceyhan port, the price rose by $1.84, or 2.69%, to $70.13 per barrel.
Other major oil types also went up. URALS crude climbed 4.54% to $41.13 per barrel, while Brent Dated crude from the North Sea rose 1.8% to $72.76 per barrel.

Azerbaijan’s 2026 state budget is based on an average oil price of $65 per barrel, meaning the recent price increases could provide extra revenue for the government.

Analysts say higher oil prices may help the economy, supporting investments and boosting state income. The country continues to monitor global trends to maintain its position in the oil market while managing domestic economic growth.
