Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has officially named the main road leading to the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals as Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, in honor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dangote made the announcement on Thursday during President Tinubu’s tour of the refinery and the commissioning of the new Deep Sea Port Access Road, which links the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Free Trade Zone, and the refinery to the Sagamu–Benin Expressway via Ijebu Ode.
“The Dangote refinery complex is, in many ways, your brainchild,” Dangote told the President. “Mr President, let me just say one thing — the main road leading into our refinery is now to be known as Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road.”
President Tinubu responded warmly, shaking hands with Dangote to the applause of dignitaries present.
Dangote also highlighted the Group’s commitment to Nigeria’s infrastructure, revealing that despite paying N450 billion in taxes last year, they plan to spend N900 billion on road projects nationwide under the Federal Government’s tax credit scheme. “The Deep Sea Port Access Road is just one of several roads we are developing,” he said.
As Nigeria’s highest tax-paying company, the Dangote Group continues to play a pivotal role in national development, contributing more taxes than all the country’s banks combined.
