Dangote Praises Tinubu’s NNPCL Leadership Shake-Up

Dangote Group President Alhaji Aliko Dangote has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing a highly competent leadership team at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), believing their expertise will propel the sector forward.

Dangote visited President Tinubu to commend the strategic appointment of Mr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari as Group CEO and Mr. Ahmadu Musa Kida as Non-Executive Chairman. He described the new management team as a “formidable and professionally competent team” poised to revitalize NNPCL.

“The leadership team brings a wealth of technical expertise and managerial experience essential for revitalizing Nigeria’s most strategic public enterprise,” Dangote stated. “We are confident that this team will address systemic challenges and align with the President’s vision of a $1 trillion economy, repositioning NNPCL for operational excellence and long-term sustainability.”

While expressing support for the new leadership, Dangote clarified that his ongoing efforts to safeguard his $20 billion refinery project are not linked to NNPCL’s leadership. He reaffirmed that the new NNPCL leadership has been supportive in addressing the company’s needs.

“The recent structural reforms at NNPCL serve as strong indicators of the organization’s renewed focus on transparency, efficiency, and accountability,” Dangote added.

Dangote concluded with optimism, expressing confidence that NNPCL’s new leadership will steer the country’s energy sector to new heights and further his commitment to a prosperous, energy-secure Nigeria.
